Anambra Man Reportedly Dies While Watching Arsenal vs PSG Match, Buried in Uga

Residents of Uga community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State have continued to mourn the sudden death of a local businessman, Mazi Chibuzor Nzediegwu, popularly known as Nze, who reportedly collapsed while watching the UEFA Champions League clash between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The incident was shared on Facebook by user Azlannnn, who stated that the deceased later passed away after efforts to save his life proved unsuccessful.

According to Azlannnn, the tragic incident occurred at a football viewing centre in Uga during the second half of the match. Witnesses reportedly rushed him to a nearby hospital after he suddenly collapsed while watching the game.

However, medical personnel were unable to revive him and he was later pronounced dead.

Mazi Chibuzor Nzediegwu was said to be a popular livestock trader at Orie Uga Market and was widely known within the community.

This incident has stirred reactions among football fans and social media users about proper regular medical checkups, particularly during emotionally intense moments such as major football matches.

While some believes the deceased could have had health challenge, a user, Major Nnamdi Okorie JP stated that people with high BP shouldn't be allowed to watch games played by the England football club, Arsenal as they are only known for disappointing their fans.

"Sigh Nawaah ooo those with high BP shouldn't always watch arsenal matches when they are playing in a final game hoha, because arsenal knows how to disappoint many in terms of playing for trophies like this. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace." Major said.

As tributes continue to pour in from members of the community, many residents described the late trader as a familiar and hardworking figure whose sudden passing came as a shock to those who knew him.

The incident has further highlighted how deeply football is woven into everyday social life across many Nigerian communities, where fans regularly gather at viewing centres to watch major European matches together.
